Sriwarna – Singapore
That is one short & sweet name for a dance group.
This is the Singapore segment of the Folkdance Festival – July 7

Singapura
Singapore – that little red dot with the Lee & Lee Pte Ltd at the helm.
Singaporeans will defintely understand the joke. The rest of you just enjoy the dance presented by the Sriwarna dance ensemble.

I AM Singing & Dancing In The Rain With My Love
——————————————–
It was a superbly staged folkdance festival with rip-roaring dance performances coming one after another at a fast and furious pace. Spectacular is probably an understatement of the year, I believe. Showbiz Glitz is more fitting. Yah, putting on the glitz!
Overall, the festival (final day) was packed full of exhilarating and dramatic dance renditions with the dancing artistes giving their all to keep the audiences enthralled and spellbound to the end. And to top it all, the show opened & ended with the eye-popping pyrotechnic extravaganza.
And to add values to the show, you could even have your pictures taken with any of the show-stoppers (performing artistes, in this case. Forget about looking it up in the dictionary, just use mine) prior to the show.
Would I recommend this show extravaganza? Hell, yes, highly.
But with some slight tweaks to the programming aspects of the show coupled with aggressive promtions to the foreign visitors in the foreign media, I am absolutely sure this festival can become a huge success to rival other cultural shows. Free and easy format (less formal) may also come in handy to work the audiences up into a frenzy. One other thing, it could have been staged in an easily accessible & conducive venue. Modern state-of-the-art auditorium with a fresh coat of paint wouldn’t have gone amiss, either.
The festival is usually hosted in the early month of July, though I make no promises as this depends on the organisers’ whims and famcies. So, come the next Sabah Folklore Fest, be sure to make a date.
And to the photographers at large
Be considerate. Some of you stood in the views of the audiences. They, too, were the paying guests.
My apology too, if I had done likewise.
