Once Upon A Time Down In Borneo

Jesselton Point Panorama

The antiquated Sabah port as it was in the golden era when Kota Kinabalu was still known as Jesselton and life was at a leisurely pace. It is now a jetty, highly commercialised, where almost everything is chargeable. It would not have been so bad if the maintenance culture does go side by side with the price trend.

Hi, we have now migrated to another blog. You are most welcome to visit our new site.

Here >>>>>>>> Images of Odyssey

Site address:  http://odysseyimages.wordpress.com

The current blog, ‘Odysseyist’s Vista’, will gradually be revamped and every post will undergo a review and re–write.  Irrelevant articles will either be spiked or merged with other more appropriate posts. We hope to, eventually, make this blog easier to browse around and search for relevant articles. Related keyword-links to other posts/sites will also be inserted for each article / keywords.

Our new blog, Images of Odyssey, will mainly be centred around photo images with not much of a write up. We will, however, put up links to other sites for those who require more information when deemed possible or appropriate.

Do drop in for a chat or whatever tickles your fancy.

Let’s talk about camera, the D-SLR type. Now and then, it does give rise to an illusory image in a shot-visual. When it does, it drives me into a psychotic tailspin.

Wait a minute! I’ve got to get a hold of myself. Ahhh….. such is life’s big mystery.

The Princess that Wakes Up At the Crack of Dawn

The cruise liner, Dawn Princess, was calling at Jesselton Point on the 20th March. Grab (get) a load of this:

Decks:      10 Passenger Decks

Length:    857 ft (261 m)

Beam:        106 ft (32 m)

 Complement:    1 ,950 passengers

Crew:       900

Tonnage:    77,499 gross tons

The KK Port looked like a real dwarf when the ship berthed. It was comedy at its best. Seeing is Believing! Ahhhh…. the good life never ceases to amaze me.
